Deductions

Income Tax is a deduction taken from your wages by the government, it is calculated as a percentage.  It is used to fund Education, Police etc

National Insurance is a deduction taken from your wages.  It is calculated as a percentage and is used to fund the NHS, Unemployment Benefit, Disability Benefit, Sickness Benefit and the State Pension.

Pension is another deduction taken from your salary.  It is again usually calculated as a percentage of of your salary.
