Now have a look at this example:

Two pupils were comparing how much time they spent on their mobile phone in a particular week, calculate their average time (mean):​

Mark = (22+108+95+118+66+51+90) ÷ 7 = 550 ÷ 7 = 78.57 minutes​

Davie = (95+101+180+71+56+38+89) ÷ 7 = 630 ÷ 7 = 90 minutes​

Not every day, but on average Davie spent more time on his mobile phone.
